When a gift is made to the Oklahoma Disciples Foundation, it is often intended to do more than meet a need in a single moment. Many donors choose to create endowments so their generosity can support ministry over time.

An endowment is structured so that the principal is invested and a portion of the earnings is distributed each year. This preserves the original gift while providing annual funding for ministries, congregations, and programs, including the ODF Grants Program, in line with the Foundation’s spending policy.

This week, we were honored to establish a new endowment created by an anonymous donor. This fund will support early childhood and primary education programs through future grant distributions. While the gift is made today, its impact will continue for years.

This is how many of the ministries we support are sustained. Gifts given in one season continue to serve in the next, strengthening churches, supporting communities, and extending care in ways that reach far beyond a single moment.

If you would like to learn more about how an endowment works, we would be glad to visit with you.
