At the Oklahoma Disciples Foundation, we sometimes talk about legacy at moments when it may feel early — before decisions are being made, before plans feel urgent, and before answers are fully formed. We do this intentionally.
Legacy is not something that belongs only to the end of life. It is shaped gradually, through values we live by, relationships we nurture, and commitments we hold over time. Talking about legacy early allows space for reflection rather than pressure, conversation rather than decision-making.
We believe legacy conversations should be rooted in trust. They should invite people to consider what has mattered most in their lives — their faith, their church, their hope for future generations — and how those values might continue to bless others.
This is why ODF approaches legacy as an ongoing dialogue, not a transaction. Our role is to listen, to educate, and to walk alongside individuals and families as they discern what faithful stewardship looks like in their own season of life.
Some legacies take shape through endowments. Others, through planned gifts, stories, or acts of generosity, shared quietly over many years. Every legacy is personal, and every journey is different.
By talking about legacy early, we hope to create space for thoughtful reflection — space where generosity grows from gratitude and faith rather than urgency.
If you find yourself wondering what kind of legacy you hope to leave — or simply want to learn more about the options available — we invite you to start a conversation with us. We would be honored to listen and walk alongside you.
Thank you for the trust you place in the Oklahoma Disciples Foundation. Together, we continue to steward faith, generosity, and hope in ways that touch lives for generations to come.
